For the second time exhibitors from Hong Kong and Guangdong will be presenting a wide range of products to Polish entrepreneurs. During the Lifestyle Expo Fair at Expo XXI Warsaw International Expocentre we will be able to see a range of more than 200 exhibitors from Hong Kong and Guangdong (Canton).

Lifestyle Expo 2010 is organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), which for many years has been launching similar projects around the world. This time HKTDC is once again partnered with the Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of Guangdong Province (GDDOFTEC). The event is aimed at the Polish business community, providing the opportunity to develop valuable business contacts with companies from Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta.

What makes Hong Kong and Guangdong major business partners?

Hong Kong is the world's 13th largest trading entity with the total value of imports and exports exceeding its gross domestic product. Moreover, it's one of the world's leading financial centers. In 2010, for the 16th time in a row, Hong Kong has been ranked as the freest economy in the world by the Heritage Foundation Index of Economic Freedom, for its policy of easy market access, a low and transparent tax system, a strong legal system and the free flow of information, goods and capital.

Hong Kong is an important centre for international finance and trade, with the 7th largest Stock Exchange in the world. By meeting the challenges of rapid technological change and the increasingly intense competition, the Hong Kong economy continues to grow. Hong Kong also plays a major role in the lively and still growing market for lifestyle products.

An important aspect in connection with trade is the fact that Hong Kong shares a border with China's richest province, Guangdong, which is considered to be the largest production base in this country. The high economic position of the province is due to nine thriving industries, namely: electronics, electrical equipment and machinery, petrochemicals, automotive, pharmaceutical, papermaking, textiles and clothing, food and beverages and construction materials. Guangdong has established trade contacts with more than 200 countries from different regions of the world and achieves the largest gross domestic product in China. Close business relations with Hong Kong are not without significance for the rapid economic growth of the province. Both centers are located in the Greater Pearl River Delta, one of the leading design and manufacturing centers in the world. As well as Hong Kong, Guangdong Province also has some ties to Poland: Guangdong is partnered with Zachodniopomorskie Province and Poznań and Shenzhen are partner cities.

Trade cooperation between Poland and Hong Kong

Currently, Poland remains one of the most important business partners of Hong Kong in this part of Europe. The growing business between Poland and Hong Kong is confirmed by recent business statistics. From January to April exports from Hong Kong to Poland have increased by 14.7%. At the same time, imports from Poland to Hong Kong grew by 18%. Poland is also seen as a big market, operating in a single European market, which can take more advanced investment projects.

"Poland is the economically fastest growing country in Europe and came out of the financial crisis almost unaffected. I am sure that Hong Kong and Poland have good long-term business prospects. Due to the global economic crisis total trade between Hong Kong and Poland reached only US$724 million in 2009, 26.5 per cent less than in 2008. Fortunately in the first four months of this year, exports were growing again: imports from Poland to Hong Kong developed in a stable manner and rose in 2009 by 84.1 per cent and from Janaury to April 2010 by 18 per cent," saidWinchell Cheung, Director Germany and Central Europe, HKTDC.

Lifestyle Expo 2010 - international business communication platform for Polish entrepreneurs

Lifestyle Expo is a B2B event organized annually in Central and Eastern Europe. Previous editions were held twice in Budapest and once in Moscow. In September 2009 Lifestyle Expo was held for the first time in Poland.

The success of last year's Lifestyle Expo in Warsaw shows that Polish entrepreneurs are looking for business partners from Hong Kong and China. The principles of cooperation presented and the benefits have provided the representatives of Polish companies with an opportunity to explore Hong Kong, as an experienced business partner with well-developed infrastructure and a number of facilities in the conduct of its business.

This year's Lifestyle Expo will be held on 21 - 23 September at Expo XXI Warsaw International Expocentre. The event will once again provide an opportunity to explore the quality and design of products offered by exhibitors from Hong Kong and Guangdong. Entrepreneurs are going to present an even wider range of products, including consumer electronics and ICT products, fashion and accessories, household items and electrical appliances, gifts and premium products and watches.

Lifestyle Expo is a meaningful opportunity for Polish entrepreneurs: wholesalers, distributors, importers and retailers. The range on offer is aimed at all who wish to establish business relations with reliable suppliers and producers from Hong Kong and Mainland China. There are additional advantages which may encourage visitors: a series of open seminars concerning the establishment of business relations with partners from Asia, and the chance to win a trip to Hong Kong and participate in some of the largest trade fairs in the world.

The first two days of the Lifestyle Expo will be open only to the trade and industry, while the third, final day of the fair will also give individuals a chance to see the range on offer. Admission is free, but for the first two days of the fair registration is required. This is possible now, online at www.lifestyleexpowarsaw.com/pl
